Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: “To Drivers, Through Drivers – Making India’s Roads Safer!“. What started as a road safety initiative in 2019 has now evolved into a comprehensive, nationwide movement that impacts not only truck drivers and transporters but also the communities around logistics hubs and future generations.

In 2019, TCI Group embarked on a transformative journey, fueled by the urgent need to tackle the road safety crisis. TCI Safe Safar was born as a call to action—"To Drivers, Through Drivers – Making India’s Roads Safer!" In January 2019, we launched TCI Safe Safar 1.0 in Gurgaon, marking the start of a mission that would touch lives and shape the future of road safety in India. The initiative was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Honorable Minister for Road Transport & Highways, signaling the beginning of a groundbreaking journey that would soon spread across the nation.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a halt, and TCI Safe Safar was not immune. In March 2020, our activities were paused due to the nationwide lockdown. However, we swiftly adapted to the changing circumstances. In 2021, we relaunched with Safe Safar Phase 2, integrating COVID-19 safety protocols, ensuring that our activities continued while prioritizing the health and safety of all participants. Events were conducted at customer and corporate locations, with strict adherence to sanitization, social distancing, and safety measures.
As TCI Safe Safar evolved, we recognized the need to address not only road safety but also environmental sustainability. In 2022, we began educating our stakeholders about the dangers of single-use plastics and encouraged more eco-friendly practices. In 2023-24, aligning with the vision of “Digital India,” we introduced technology-driven solutions for truck drivers, teaching them how to use apps like Sarathi Parivahan, Vahan, and Google Maps, empowering them with tools that enhance their driving experience and ensure safer journeys.
In 2024, TCI Safe Safar began its journey to educate schoolchildren, ensuring that the future generation understands the importance of road safety. Through our partnership with Chhota Bheem, we made learning fun and interactive, using Nukkad Nataks (street plays) to teach road safety in an engaging way. These skits address real-life challenges, focusing on traffic rules, helmet use, and safe walking practices around roads. In addition to this, TCI Safe Safar is developing academic case studies to inspire future leaders in the safety and sustainability space.
As we continue our journey, TCI Safe Safar is committed to driving innovation and sustainability within the logistics sector. To promote eco-friendly practices, we are introducing electric vehicle (EV) trucks, aiming to reduce our carbon footprint and set new standards for environmental responsibility. Additionally, we are launching a podcast series to highlight inspiring stories of resilience within the transport industry, fostering awareness and support for road safety. In collaboration with IIHMR, we will also conduct an anthropology study to explore the occupational aspirations of the next generation of drivers. This research will delve into the socio-cultural and economic factors shaping career choices, addressing the projected shortage of drivers in India by understanding the career paths of children of professional drivers. Through these initiatives, we aim to create a sustainable and inclusive future for the logistics industry.

In line with our commitment to privacy and security, TCI Safe Safar captures driver data through a secure Digital Asset Management system. This system ensures that sensitive information is stored safely and is only accessible to authorized personnel, upholding the highest standards of data security and driver privacy.
